Meeting the Need – Library Backpack Giveaway

It’s just another way that we give back.. the youth were in need and we tried to make it happen. This year we were planning an event that would include a firetruck visit, local food vendors, games and a helicopter landing for the children in the community! However, some kind of political ego crap got in the way. Quite disappointing in that regard, but the Southpointe Hospital, MyCom, and library staff came through providing 60+ youth with backpacks full of supplies. We still made something good happen – and we’ll do it again. Shout outs: Ginaya, Izzy, Brenda, Beate and most definitely Carloyn from the hospital! #blacklibrariansmatter
