I just couldn’t help but pay a little homage…

In recent times, has there been another artist (i.e. musician, painter, sculptor, poet…) that has been drawn, written about, painted, or “filtered” more than Erykah Badu?  If there has please let this brotha know.  Either way, her Motherland features (lips, hips, and other parts), and her eccentric, eclectic, bold, refuse to be put in a box style have been the source of inspiration for many.  Impressive art people!  (Crediting each piece was quite impossible because most were re-posts.  However, several of these images were linked back to Deviant Art).

    Badu is an amazing artist! She is so creative and dings from the heart. Not to mention a truly beautiful sista. I have all of her cd’s. I’ve been a die hard fan since 1997. I have a friend of mine that’s a musician. He got the chance to meet her backstage at a show and take a picture with her. He always brings it up. He knows it makes me extremely jealous.lol It’s all in good fun though. She is a great woman with a beautiful spirit.

    After 15 years I was finally able to see Badu in Detroit in 2012. I was mesmerized. I think if I actually met her I would either want to stalk her or be haunted by her beauty forever.

      I feel the same way.lol My buddy said she gave him a big hug. She was really down to earth. He said her perfume smelled intoxicating. And her eyes hypnotized him! I don’t doubt him one bit!lol
